Trauma Treatment and Recovery
Recovering and healing from a trauma is the hardest thing you will ever do, second only to surviving the trauma. That being said, it is also the most important thing you can do and post-traumatic stress is treatable with a number of effective, evidence-based treatments.
While you will never forget the trauma, it is possible to live a full and satisfying life where you are in charge, rather than your trauma controlling your life. In other words, you can move from merely surviving every day and existing, to really living in the present moment and thriving. You will be able to truly put the trauma behind you and be your best self, living your best life.
It is important to note that putting the trauma behind you is not "getting over it." If it were possible to "get over" trauma, I would be unemployed!
Instead, we will work on making sense of your trauma, organizing the memory of it, considering new perspectives, and processing the trauma memories for long-lasting relief of your symptoms. I will also coach you in the use of effective, healthy coping skills to manage and reduce your symptoms.
